Welcome. This is the first post on the AfterMKT blog. It exists for one reason: we're going to ship things and explain why, and we'd rather do that here than scatter the answers across Twitter threads and changelogs.
What you'll find here
Four kinds of posts, no others.
- Product Releases — when we ship a feature that affects merchants or buyers, we'll post about it. What changed, why, and what to do if you're a merchant or a buyer affected.
- Tech Explainers — short pieces aimed at non-engineers. "What's a digital receipt?" "Why is it on Solana?" "What happens when I claim?" Plain language, no jargon.
- Deep Dives — long pieces aimed at engineers and curious operators. Architecture, trade-offs, decisions. The kind of post you'd want to read before joining the team.
- Ecosystem — Shopify changes, Solana developments, integrations. What's happening adjacent to us that you should know about.
What you won't find here
- Investment advice. AfterMKT receipts are proof of purchase, not investment vehicles.
- Hot takes. We post when we have something to say, not on a schedule.
- Closed-door decisions presented as obvious. If we made a non-obvious choice, we'll show our work.
Cadence
Roughly: one product release post per shipped feature (about monthly), one deep dive per quarter, tech explainers and ecosystem posts as warranted. We'd rather post less and mean it than post weekly and say nothing.
